About Jimmy Braun
Story & Career
As a France-born Latin percussionist and creative director now based in Fukuoka, Japan, I bring over 15 years of interdisciplinary expertise spanning design, communication, journalism, marketing, SEO, advertising, and photography, with a specialized focus on visual communication, branding, and creative strategies.
My musical journey began with intensive percussion training in France and Cuba, studying congas and drums while simultaneously developing a comprehensive background in communication technologies. This dual-track education has enabled me to forge a unique, innovative approach to creative professional challenges.
I have pursued various careers, including freelance journalist, musician, music instructor, art gallery assistant, festival artistic director, and communications manager, and have been an entrepreneur since 2009.
My passion for holistic wellness led me to launch Blog Nutrition Santé, where I have shared evidence-based insights on nutrition and health since 2009. This work culminated in the publication of À chacun son régime (2019), a book exploring personalized dietary strategies. More recently, I authored MAJO — Matcha Tasting Journal (2025), drawing from over 15 years of immersion in Japanese tea culture since discovering matcha in Tokyo in 2008.
Personal experiences, including a childhood car accident at age 7 and a battle with leukemia at 11, profoundly shaped my perspective. These transformative challenges deepened my understanding of resilience and sparked a profound interest in art therapy and music therapy, exploring their powerful impact on healing and psychological well-being.
Driven by an unwavering passion for creativity, I specialize in photography, music, typography, digital solutions, and branding for both emerging and established brands.
Since 2017, I have been working as a creative director in Japan. My dedication and hard work have earned me the support of the Startup City Fukuoka center, allowing me to secure a business manager visa and establish myself as an entrepreneur in Japan. Fluent in French and English, with conversational Japanese, I bridge European and Asian markets with a distinctive multicultural perspective.
